Shortly before the turn of the millennium, computer science graduate Pardis Tehrani began working on IT solutions for the hotel industry. His customers were particularly concerned about the high abandonment rates for online bookings. He recognized a business idea in the inadequate “usability” of the booking masks: “What if users no longer had to click through five or six pages,” Tehrani asked himself, “but could complete the entire booking quickly and easily on a single page?” He was certain that abandonment rates would fall rapidly and conversion rates would rise accordingly. The idea of OnePageBooking was born.
